Using the app
I asked in chat but no document was written
A new document opens as a chat-only screen, and at that stage the AI does not write a body.It replies with an outline instead. When the shape is right, press Turn into document. You get a list of what will be written; press Run and the body is created.
You don't have to get it right first time — keep talking ("make it more casual","drop that section") and run it when you're happy. See the user guide for the full flow.
I want to change a document that already exists
Documents that already have a body skip the "turn into document" stage.Tap the sentence or block you want to change in the preview, ask in one sentence, and it is edited in place.
Pricing and purchases
What can I do for free?
Creating documents, editing source, preview, iCloud sync, and export are all free, and none of them require signing in.AI features (chat, AI editing, web research) are the exception: you sign in with your Apple Account and get a free allowance to try them. That allowance is one-time — it does not reset each month. Once it runs out, a subscription is required to keep using AI. See the App Store listing for current pricing.
Do I need to sign in to use AI?
Yes. The app asks you to sign in with your Apple Account the first time you use an AI feature. This is how the usage allowance is tracked. Without it, the allowance would come back every time you switched devices and the limit would mean nothing. We do not receive your email address or your name. You do not need to sign in to create, edit, or sync documents. They are stored in your iCloud either way, so signing in changes neither where they live nor what they contain.
Does the subscription have a usage limit?
Yes. This is a solo-developer app and AI has a real per-request cost, so subscriptions also carry a cap per billing period. It is set high enough that ordinary writing will not reach it, but if you do, you will see:
You've reached the AI usage limit for this billing period. It becomes available again after your next renewal date.
Access returns on your next renewal date, not on the first of the month. You can check that date under Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions.Sending a burst of requests in a short time, or a very large number in one day, also triggers a temporary limit — see "It says requests are busy" below.
Where can I see how much I’ve used?
Open Settings → Subscription in the app. It shows your subscription state and your current usage. The ring on the chat screen shows the same thing.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Settings on your device, tap your Apple Account at the top, then tap Subscriptions. You can reach the same screen from Settings → Manage Subscription in the app. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends and it will not renew. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
I got a new device. Can I keep my purchase?
Sign in with the same Apple Account, then tap Restore Purchases on the purchase screen or under Settings → Restore Purchases in the app. A subscription is valid on all of your devices.
Data and privacy
Where are my documents stored?
On your own device and in your Apple Account's iCloud (the CloudKit private database). The developer cannot access their contents.
What gets sent when I use AI?
Only when you use an AI feature: your instruction and the text it targets are sent through our server to Google's generative AI (Gemini). Your data is not used to train the model. Nothing from your documents leaves the device unless you use an AI feature. See the privacy policy for details.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app. You will be asked to sign in with your Apple Account once more to confirm it is you.Your documents stay in iCloud and are not deleted. What gets deleted is the account record used to carry your purchase across devices and to track AI usage. If you also want the documents gone, delete them in the app and then empty the Trash.Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel that separately under Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions.
How do I move my data to a new device?
Sign in to iCloud with the same Apple Account and it syncs automatically. Individual documents can also be handed over by AirDrop as a transfer pack (.mdpack).
Features
Does it work offline?
Reading, source editing, and preview work offline. AI features and cloud conversion (importing Office and PDF files) need an internet connection.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad. See the App Store listing for supported OS versions.
Where are AI requests processed?
In the cloud, always. Only when you ask the AI for something are your instruction and the relevant text sent through our server to Google Gemini (it is not used for training). There is no on-device AI route. The editor, preview, export, and iCloud sync do not involve AI and stay on your device.
Can I import Word or PDF files?
Word, PDF, PowerPoint, and Excel can be converted to Markdown in the cloud (internet required, 10 MB limit). Tables, figures, and layout may not survive the conversion, so treat it as a draft import for AI editing rather than a faithful conversion.
What export formats are available?
Markdown, HTML, PDF, and PNG. There is also a transfer pack (.mdpack) that carries images along with the text between devices.
Which Markdown syntax is supported?
Headings, bullet lists, task lists, tables, code blocks, block quotes, links, and images, plus:
Callouts (> [!tip] and similar) for coloured note and tip boxes
Mermaid diagrams (6 kinds, including flowcharts)
Maths: block equations written as $$ E = mc^2 $$. Inline $ … $ is not supported
Footnotes: 1 in the text and 1: your note at the end, collected into a Footnotes section
Comments: `` is saved with the document but never shown in the preview
Front matter: a block fenced by --- or +++ at the very top is treated as metadata and not rendered as body text
Document links: [[Title]] links to another document, and tapping it opens that document
YouTube and maps: put a URL on its own line and it is embedded in the preview (maps use MapKit)
Decorative HTML such as webview or custom HTML cards is not rendered. It appears as an ordinary code block.
Can I add images and video?
Both. Use Insert photo or video in the source editor toolbar to pick from your photo library; images can also simply be pasted. Whatever you insert syncs through iCloud along with the document.
How do I get a deleted document back?
Deleting a document only moves it to the Trash, so it can be restored. Open Trash in the document list and choose Restore on the row you want back.Nothing in the Trash is removed automatically. Only Empty Trash or Delete Forever removes a document permanently — along with its chat history and attached images — and that cannot be undone.
Can I organise documents into folders?
Yes. Create one with + in the document list, then move documents in through Move to Folder in the row's ⋯ menu. Reordering uses Move up and Move down in the same menu. Subfolders are supported.Deleting a folder does not delete the documents inside it. They move to the top of the list, and any subfolders move up one level.
How do I find and replace text?
Use Find & replace in the source editor toolbar. Open the search field, then Show replace to reveal the replace field. To find a whole document instead, use the search bar in the document list.
How do I use the source editor toolbar?
Bring up the keyboard and a toolbar appears along the bottom. From left to right: theshortcut list (grid icon), formatting (H1 H2 H3 B, lists, quotes, code),then find, copy all, image, map, document link, table editor, and Mermaid editor.
Undo and redo are not in this toolbar — they sit at the top right of the screen. The formatting buttons (B, H1, and so on) behave like this:
With nothing selected: a sample is inserted and left selected. Pressing B inserts **bold** with bold selected, so whatever you type next replaces it.
With text selected: the selection is wrapped. For links you get [your text](url) with url selected, ready to paste over.
Headings, lists, and quotes: select several lines and the marker is added to the start of each one.
The toolbar scrolls horizontally. Anything hidden off-screen can be reached from the shortcut list under the grid icon.
How do I copy the whole document?
Press Copy all in the source editor toolbar. The document is copied as plain Markdown. The icon turns into a checkmark for two seconds to confirm.
How do I edit tables and Mermaid diagrams?
Use the Table editor and Mermaid diagram icons in the source editor toolbar, which open dedicated editors. The same editors are available from the shortcut list under the grid icon.
Can I change the app’s language?
Yes. Settings → Language lets you choose Match System, English, or Japanese.
Troubleshooting
Sync isn’t working
Syncing is handled by iCloud, so changes can take a while to appear. Catching up within a few minutes to half an hour is normal. Check these in order first:
1.
Are you signed in to iCloud?
2.
Is iCloud enabled for this app under Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud?
3.
Are you online? (Check Airplane Mode and Low Data Mode too.)
4.
Do you have enough iCloud storage left?
Only if all of those look fine and nothing has moved for days should you use Settings → Backup and sync repair in the app. The same screen exports every document as a ZIP. (That section is currently labelled in Japanese: 「バックアップと同期の修復」.)
What does “repair sync” do?
It rebuilds this device's local data from scratch and fetches everything again from iCloud. Nothing in your iCloud is deleted. It is meant as a last resort, so work through the checks above first. A snapshot is taken automatically before it runs, but exporting a ZIP yourself beforehand is safer still. It will not help if only uploading is failing — that is, new notes never appear on the cloud side. Rebuilding the local store does not fix that; export a ZIP and reinstall the app instead.
The AI replies “I’ll edit that” and then stops
Send the target and the change in a single sentence, for example "summarise the conversation so far as three bullet points". If you want to change body text, tap the sentence you want changed first, then give the instruction.
AI features aren’t working
Check these in order:
1.
Are you signed in with your Apple Account? AI features require it.
2.
Are you online? AI requests cannot be sent while offline.
3.
Is your free allowance used up, or your subscription inactive?
If all three look fine, open Settings → Subscription in the app to see your current usage.
It says requests are busy
Sending several requests in quick succession triggers a temporary limit. Wait about a minute and try again.A very high number of requests in one day produces the same message; that clears when the date changes.
